JRC eStation for AMESD project
A comprehensive tool for Natural Resources Monitoring in Africa

The JRC eStation
The name eStation stands for 'environmental Station'. It is an automatic and independent system, which automatically collects Earth Observation data, e.g. from the EUMETCast or an ftp server, and transforms the original file format into a standard format. The eStation is strongly oriented to run standardized processing chains, including the computation temporal synthesis, long term anomalies and 'ad-hoc' environmental indicators. The whole system is developed by JRC on Open Source solutions (Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, MapServer, GDAL, Python, perl, php).
